easier said, than done.

In professional news, I have just scheduled my exam for my LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) which will be happening on 9/18/09. Please, pray for me to pass.

In health related news, I have still been struggling but still trying. I *actually* asked for help this week at work. At the hospital, we have a nutritionist and an activities counselor who also does fitness modeling or something. I talked with both of them and I felt weird but ultimately OK with asking for help from people who know me. They gave good feedback.

The receptionist at Weight Watchers said I should talk with my doctor about getting my goal weight adjusted. If my doc deems it appropriate, I would not have to be 150 lbs in order to achieve lifetime. The dilemma is this: I know I can maintain around 160 when I get there. I did it. Am I cheating myself in the end and giving up? Am I really ready for lifetime/chance to be a Leader?

In the body image, self esteem department I feel defeated. I feel like I look like a beluga whale and my clothes are getting too tight. I am contemplating switching WW days and attending the meetings with the leader I like, who I did well with awhile back. I am also contemplating Medifast

Being proactive for things that DON'T come naturally is harder than the first and second time around...

I wouldn't feel cheated if I were you. We all know what our comfortable weights are and what will be easy to maintain. While I would love to be 125lbs or less, I've been at 130 and know that I can maintain that better than fighting for those last few pounds.

I would HIGHLY recommend switching to a leader you like. Meetings are useless if you're not *excited* to go to them the way a good leader will make you feel.

I bet that will totally get you back on track.

If your body isn't built to go much lower than 160, trying to get to a lower weight will be frustrating and impossible to maintain. Also, it'll mess with your metabolism, as your body will think it's starving, and want to put on weight. (I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being honest about something that can stink).

It's not cheating yourself if you can't do what nature won't let you. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she says.

Aww don't get defeated, you can do it! IS there anyway you can try a new diet plan, maybe the nutritionist can help you create an alternate plan. No offense, to WW, but maybe its not working w. ur lifestyle anymore. I know for me, I'm always trying different things to see what works best for me. Also, I'm not sure if your budget would allow for it, but I got a BodyBugg which is a great tool for motivation and to keep you in track. It tracks your calories and steps and is kind of like forced accountability. You set up your goals for the week and it tells you how many calories you need to burn in order to make it a reality--you also log your food too so it makes you think twice about whatever 'bad' food or whatnot you're going to indulge in when you see how much progress you're making. I know they're pretty affordable now, if you get a v2 instead of the new one you can get a used one online or even via their website.
